Israeli Air Strikes Gaza

Israeli warplanes have attacked the Gaza Strip again, one day after an Israeli airstrike killed a Palestinian in the south of the territory.

Early on Wednesday morning, attacks hit two buildings south of Gaza City in the north of the enclave, but caused no deaths, AFP reported.

On Tuesday, an Israeli airstrike targeted the city of Khan Younis, Adham Abu Selmiya, the spokesman for health services in the Gaza Strip, said shortly after the incident.

The bombardment killed 25-year-old Mohammed Jamil al-Najar — an alleged resistance fighter and a member of the al-Quds Brigade, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement.

Israel has increased and intensified its attacks on Gaza over the past few months, with many Palestinians killed or injured in the incidents.

In December, at least five people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.

It was one of the deadliest attacks by the Israeli military since Tel Aviv’s December 2008-January 2009 war on Gaza, which killed more than 1,400 Palestinians and inflicted over $1.6 billion in damage on the territory’s economy. 

Iranian President going to visit Pakistan soon

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad plans to visit flood-ravaged Pakistan in the near future. Iranian News agency has quoted that Iranian President will soon going to visit Pakistan for Flood Victims.

“Due to the severity of the disaster, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has decided to visit Pakistan to make decisions required to better supply relief to the victims,” Iran’s Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar.

Iranian government added that Islamic Republic will facilitate Pakistan from every aspect in this disaster. The date for Ahmadinejad’s visit is yet to be decided.

Israel - USA warning

Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, a group of former intelligence and military officials, warns President Obama in a memo that Israel is preparing to attack Iran this month, and that Obama needs to publicly denounce such an attack in order to prevent a wider war and the ultimate destruction of Israel.

“We write to alert you to the likelihood that Israel will attack Iran as early as this month. This would likely lead to a wider war,” states the VIPS memo, which is addressed to the President.

The letter is signed by Phil Giraldi, former CIA (20 years), Larry Johnson, former CIA; DoS, (24 years), W. Patrick Lang, Col., USA, Special Forces (ret.); Director of HUMINT Collection, Defense Intelligence Agency (30 years), Ray McGovern, US Army Intelligence Officer, CIA (30 years), Coleen Rowley, FBI (24 years), and Ann Wright, Col., US Army Reserve (ret.), (29 years); Foreign Service Officer, Department of State (16 years).

The memo highlights Netanyahu’s attitude to how pliable he believes the American government is to satisfying Israel’s demands, making reference to comments he made nine years ago on Israeli television.

“America is something that can be easily moved. Moved in the right direction. … They won’t get in our way … Eighty percent of the Americans support us. It’s absurd,” said Netanyahu.

“As we hope your advisers have told you, regime change, not Iranian nuclear weapons, is Israel’s primary concern,” states the memo, adding, “A strong public statement by you, personally warning Israel not to attack Iran would most probably head off such an Israeli move.”
