Carles Puyol is the hero as Spain beat Germany 1-0 to make their first ever World Cup final, where they will face the Netherlands.

Netherlands , finally go through the FIFA World Cup™ Final last night. People were not expecting such a semi-final from Uruguay side but they have played well with so much strong heart. 

Germany will take on Spain in the second semi-final in Durban this evening in a repeat of the UEFA EURO 2008 final. The Spanish prevailed then but no team has looked more impressive so far in South Africa than the Germans, who put four past England in the Round of 16 and then dished out similar treatment to Argentina in the quarter-finals. Their upcoming opponents did not look quite as impressive in disposing of Portugal and Paraguay in the same rounds, the European champions edging through on both occasions thanks to opportunistic strikes by striker David Villa.

Table has just turned around towards Europeans , 3 Euro teams qualified for Semi-Finals [  Germany , Spain and Holland ] whereas, just one team of  South – America  [ Uruguay ]  came into Semi-Finals leaving behind big giants Argentina and Brazil.

FIFA WORLD CUP 2010 Round 16

Slovakia plays Monday in Durban against the winner of Group E. Many of the Slovak players were in tears at the end of the match, and the reserves gathered in a circle, jumping up and down in celebration. It is the first World Cup for Slovakia as an independent nation.

Slovakia finished with a win, a draw and a loss for four points. Italy had two draws and Thursday’s bitter defeat.
Italy also allowed early goals in its 1-1 draws with Paraguay and New Zealand and the Azzurri attack struggled in all three games — save for the final 10 minutes against Slovakia, when the Italians got desperate.

FIFA World Cup 2010 , is just to be burning in South Africa . 15th June summary , 6 teams step into the ground with hope and courage to bring up their victory. In the last match of the day , first time appearance of North-Korean team amazed Brazilians by their defensive skills . North Koreans stood like a wall against them . However, match ends with Brazil  2 :  1 North Korea.

Australia, who started both halves brightly and battled gamely throughout, played the last 34 minutes with 10 men after Tim Cahill was dismissed for a foul on Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Germany lead Group D from Ghana, who beat Serbia 1-0 in Sunday’s earlier match in Pretoria.

It was the triumvirate of captain Philipp Lahm, Mesut Ozil and Mueller who laid the foundation for victory as the young German team took to the wings to outflank the much-vaunted Socceroo defence.

In the eighth minute, Ozil found Mueller in what looked to be an offside position and his cutback allowed Podolski to sweep the ball into the net via Mark Schwarzer’s flailing arm.

Klose should have doubled the lead in the 24th minute when he blasted wide when Podolski’s cross left him free in front of goal but he made amends just two minutes later.

Lahm lofted a high cross in from the right, Schwarzer came charging out to claim the ball but Klose beat him to it and headed into an empty net for his 33rd international goal.

With the Australian spirit sapped by Cahill’s sending off, Mueller got his reward for a fine performance on the right flank when he found space in the box and screwed the ball into the net off the post in the 68th minute.

Cacau, who had just replaced Klose, completed the scoring two minutes later after Ozil had beaten the offside trap to play in the Stuttgart striker.
