Rescued by Flood : Sorry water came again no dams

Enormous destruction due to heavy flood and the national capability of fighting against it. As we have witnessed huge amount of destruction and loss of life caused by massive floods. The question is this that where were those pre disaster measures that could have saved plenty of lives and infrastructure. This is dilemma that about 62 years have been passed out and we are still like new to this world. Are we not aware of such natural disaster to secure people to give protection to our nation.

This could be judged from this point that just only 20 helicopters are being use for rescuing operation. However , the demand or may say this that the required number of helicopters is minimum about 100. Then also very limited tools and manpower are present which could cope in these circumstances. In this whole scenario, another disappointing factor is lack of major dams and water reservoirs. According to calculation no major dam has been built from last 30 to 35 years and indeed this is a huge setback especially in these situations.

Personally I feel this that now this is the time that we should take some serious steps in this context. A strong disaster management should be setup which must be designed according to International standards.
